The luncheon, to be hosted by The Express, will be at Mareeba International Club from 11.30am-2pm and will feature interesting speakers as well as a wonderful smorgasbord lunch including dessert and tea and coffee.

The event will also feature live music by Shandell, a great lucky door prize and raffles.

The raffles have been sponsored by Brushed Hair Gallery and Marama Jewellery, both located in Byrnes Street. A handmade quilt, made by the Days for Girls group, and a $50 voucher donated by Mareeba Mayor Angela Toppin will also be part of the raffle prizes on offer.

Attendees will also hear from three speakers – Katrina Mellick, Ebony Faichney and Lesa Moro.

Katrina is a visionary business strategist and transformational leader who will talk about Holistic Humans & Business which provides a comprehensive range of services aimed at driving meaningful progress and success.

Ebony is a passionate, Mareeba-based young leader who stands up for farmers and local businesses, making sure regional voices are heard where it matters most. Through her consultancy Farmour and her role as executive officer of the Mareeba Chamber of Commerce, she turns practical challenges into real solutions that strengthen our communities.

Lesa Moro, who started the Mareeba chapter of the international organisation, Days for Girls, in 2013 will also tell the audience about what the group does to help women gain access to essential sanitary products in disadvantaged countries.

All the proceeds from the 7 March event will be donated to the group to enable them to continue their great work.

Since the beginning of Days for Girls Mareeba, Lesa has helped thousands of women from the Middle East, Papua New Guinea, India, Nepal, Cambodia, and East Timor.

The cost is $55 per person. For bookings, go to www.trybooking.com/DJHKC
