Special story time at library
MUMS and bubs were joined by a special guest from the Mareeba Animal Refuge at an event held at the Mareeba Library recently.
The children enjoyed reading their picture book with Wendy from Mareeba Library and Sharmari from the refuge, who is available for adoption.
Local families enjoyed a fun and engaging morning at the library for Disability Action Week – an annual campaign which raises awareness and promotes inclusivity for people with a disability.
The Mareeba Animal Refuge brought along the gentle and quiet Sharmari to be the ‘Story Dog’, who helped tell the story of Rambo’s Chicken Tale by Linda Williams.
The children were very excited and joined in on the story telling as well, transforming their little hands into chickens who invaded and disrupted the story reading session, as per the book.
