THE FNQ Hotdogs made a clean sweep in three divisions at the recent 2020 FNQ Futsal Titles held in Cairns.

The U11, U15 and Open Men’s’ divisions clinched their finals to come outon top and become champions.

For the Open Men’s division this win marks four years in a row, the U11’s had their second consecutive win, while the U15’s took home their first ever title.

FNQ Hotdogs coach Ronnie Leporati was proud of his players and howthey played during the titles.

“It feels good as a coach to see all the hard work and training pay off,” he said.

“Overall it wasn’t as big as past tournaments but the standard of games washigh.

“The best game of the whole week- end was the U15 final.”

The U15 final was a nail biter with the game moving into extra time and a constant fight for control of the ball which ended with the Hotdogs winning 6-5.

The Open Men’s side will be traveling to the Gold Coast in January 2021to compete in the Gold Coast International Futsal Championships.

“We won the championship two years ago and we lost in the semi-final last year,” Mr Leporati said.

“These boys have been together since they were 14 years of age so they know each other.

“They’ve got a pretty good chance of hopefully making it to the finals.”
