CHAMPIONS: Lindsie Jack and Katina Davies dominated their competition at the Barefoot Water skiing State Titles in October.

TWO local barefoot water skiers have returned home after ripping up their competition at the recent State Titles held in Bundaberg.

Six skiers from the Northern Region QLD Barefoot Waterski Club in Atherton made the journey down in October to compete in the State Titles with three becoming State Champions and one a runner-up State Champion.

Clifford Blackford came home with the senior men’s division title, Mark Molford came second in sub-junior boys, Lindsie Jack won her junior women’s title and Katina Davis took home the senior women’s title.

Ms Davies competed in all three events over the competition coming off the back of her performance at the Australian Titles where she was selected for the Australian team.

“It’s an absolute honour to be named in the Australian side for the World Titles it’s something that I never thought would happen in my wildest dreams,” Ms Davies said.

“I was very lucky to be given the chance and I worked hard for it."

Miss Jack had an outstanding performance coming home a champion considering this was her second State Title competition.

This is a massive feat considering she decided to step up a division from U14’s to U17’s solely because she craved the challenge.

“It’s nice to actually get something decent out of all the work you put into training,” she said.

“I was really excited to compete in a division higher and I was up for the challenge."
