State finals awaits Amelie
AMELIE Cockrem is now through to the Lions Youth of the Year State Finals after wowing judges at the District Final in Townsville recently.
Amelie is pictured celebrating her win with Malanda Lions Club representatives Phil Slocombe and PDG (Past District Governor) Kath Scully.
Amelie, a Malanda State High student, said ahead of the District round that she was a bit nervous but she also enjoyed a challenge and pushing herself out of her comfort zone.

It seems her courage has paid off, with Amelie taking out the Overall Winner award in Townsville. She is now set to compete at the State final in Bundaberg on 2 May.
