Supermarket powerhouse
A LOCAL supermarket has taken out a national award for its continued efforts to stock quality and local fresh produce.
Fresh Street Market IGA, Atherton has won yet another award following the 26th IGA National Awards of Excellence.
The local store took home the 2025 IGA National Large Fresh Produce Department of the Year Award at a gala event on the Gold Coast recently. This win also follows their state award win earlier this year.
“We are so proud that we’ve been awarded the 2025 IGA National Large Fresh Produce Department of the Year,” Fresh St Market IGA director Matt Bowles said speaking to the win.
“Our store is a destination for the freshest, locally sourced produce which comes from our beautiful surrounding Tablelands.
“It’s no secret that we take great pride in having great quality and great value fresh produce, so this is a true honour.
“After a massive year, we’re excited to celebrate this milestone and achievement with our team, our customers, and community. Thank you to our team and customers for the ongoing support, we can’t do this without you.”
The store was recognised for delivering a quality fresh produce department with produce sourced locally and from the surrounding Tablelands. Specific ticketing is also used to hero local products to show their support for local suppliers.
From year-round to seasonal produce, ready to go cut fruit and a range of pre-packed vegetables, this department is always looking “fresh”, and the in-store florist and gifting section adds a hint of vibrance to the front of the store.
