He is due to appear in the Atherton Children’s Court on Tuesday.

Officer in the Charge of the Tablelands Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Gary Hall said police acted quickly to recover the stolen firearms.

“We know that stolen firearms in the hands of the wrong people present a serious threat to community safety,” he said.

“It’s crucial that weapons licence holders properly secure their firearms in compliant weapons safes, and take adequate security measures including installing CCTV cameras, security screens and deadlocks.”
