Top team topples Bandits
THE Mareeba Bandits are yet to find their footing with a young first grade team this season after taking another loss at the weekend.

The Bandits hosted the Barron River Cricket Club at Borzi Park on Saturday afternoon but were unable to compete with the first-placed side.
Mareeba batsmen Greg Misener and Brendan Payne top scored for their side, scoring 29 from 46 and 40 from 57 respectively.
Barron River’s bowlers proved too strong for the home side, however, including Max Holt who took four wickets in his eight overs. Mareeba finished their innings 10/131.
The Bandits’ attack with ball-in-hand was evidently not strong enough to dismantle the Barron River batsmen, with the openers Tim Ward and Adam Trewin managing to chase down Mareeba’s score after just 23 overs.
Ward finished 61-not-out off 79 balls, including four 4s and one 6, while Trewin finished 65-not-out off 60 balls, with six 4s and a six.
This Saturday, the Bandits will host Mulgrave from 12.30pm at Borzi Park, while Atherton return from a bye to host the Rovers from 12.30pm at Loder Park.
