The “Immersed in Nature” exhibition promises to be an exhilarating experience, showcasing the unique and daring expressions of the talented trio.

Each one brings a distinctive style and vision, making the event a must-see for anyone who loves art that challenges conventions and sparks the imagination.

The opening will be held from 3pm-5pm on Sunday where visitors can meet the artists, view the artwork and indulge in a refreshing drink and nibbles.

Yvonne Frizzo was born and raised in Far North Queensland and says her art is inspired by “my love of animals, nature and landscape”.

“I enjoy venturing out to paint ‘En Plein Air’ where I immerse myself in nature and the elements,” she said.

“Commencing in 2019, my artistic journey continues with continued learning, while exploring new mediums and surfaces. I am finding the more I learn, the more exciting my art becomes, as it gives me the opportunity to experiment, explore, and play.”

Belinda Mangano says her art is focussed on “upcycled resonance”.

“From 2025, I adjusted my art practice to just working with what I have and created, rooted in reflection, reinvention, and the quiet power of working with what we already have,” she said.

“I made a personal commitment: to create without acquiring anything new. Instead, I turned inward – to my studio, my shelves, my scraps – and chose to upcycle. To upcycle is to give discarded materials a new and elevated life.

“This body of work was created slowly and intentionally, using hand-stitching, collage, and a deliberate process of assembly. I embraced ‘slow making’ – techniques like Coptic stitching and hand-bound journals, where every thread and tear of paper carries a trace of time and care.

“Upcycled Resonance invites you to consider what can be transformed – not just in the studio, but in life – when we slow down, look again, and listen for what still resonates.”

Eve Jorgensen has been painting for 20 years, with her artworks exhibited in many locations in the Cairns district including hotels, cafes and galleries.

“A passion for the creative process is reflected in my artworks,” she said.

“I paint a lot of colourful scenes from nature, incorporating bright colours and textures to create compositions that capture the viewer’s interest.

“I mainly paint in acrylics and often use mixed media, inks and fabric attachment to my artworks.

“With a mixture of realist and abstract art in my portfolio, I am always experimenting with new ways to apply my materials to the canvas that I am producing.”
