Tyler Braden joins lineup

RISING US country artist Tyler Braden has strengthened the already-iconic lineup for this year’s Savannah in the Round music festival after he was announced as an additional headliner last week.

The Alabama-born singer, songwriter, and guitarist exploded onto the country music scene in 2024 after the release of his single, Devil You Know, which amassed over 335 million streams and went on to achieve Platinum status.

Recent touring has seen him share the stage with big-name artists such as Luke Bryan, Brooks and Dunn, and Dierks Bentley. Now Braden will join the legendary Icehouse and Don McLean as festival headliners this October.

Festival organisers hoped the announcement would generate excitement given the 33-year-old delivered a “standout” performance at CMC Rocks Queensland last month.

“Tyler is at that point in his career where everything is building. He has a strong sound, a growing international audience, and the kind of big voice that stops a crowd in its tracks,” festival director James Dein said.

“We saw that at CMC Rocks, where he had 25,000 people completely blown away with just how good he is. We can’t wait to have him at Savannah in the Round, and we know the Mareeba crowd are going to love him.”

Now based in Nashville, the former firefighter has built a strong following through a mix of raw storytelling, soulful vocals, and guitar-driven performances.

His music spans country, rock, and rhythm and blues influences, with a catalogue that includes chart success and more than one billion global streams across his career.

Braden’s debut album, devil and a prayer, showcases both sides of his sound, moving between high-energy tracks and more personal, stripped-back songwriting with themes drawn from his upbringing in Slapout, Alabama, and his journey from firefighter to full-time musician.

The four-day festival, which features other well-known artists like Lee Kernaghan, Ian Moss and Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers, Wade Forster, and Max Jackson, will be held from 8-11 October at Kerribee Park, Mareeba.

More artists are said to be announced in the coming months. For ticket and camping information, visit www.savannahintheround.com.au
