UBER’S regional expansion now includes Mareeba and Atherton, with the ridesharing platform launching 11 new regions across Queensland.
As the platform rolls out its new services, it is calling on locals to consider signing up as a driver for the service.
“Queensland’s regional towns are the heart of the Sunshine State and play a huge role in keeping the country moving, growing and connected,” Head of Driver Operations, Uber Australia and New Zealand, Daniel Lopez, said.
“Before we turn on Uber’s services ... we are looking for local residents to build the foundation with us by signing up to drive and earn with us.
“Driving with Uber means earning on your own terms – whether that’s supplementing an existing income, saving towards a goal, or working around other commitments.
“Driver partners can choose when and how often they drive, giving them the flexibility to fit it around their lives. We encourage anyone who’s interested to sign up as soon as possible, as the onboarding process can take at least three to four weeks.”
Residents in Mareeba, Atherton and surrounding communities including Tolga and Malanda, are encouraged to register their interest.
Driver partners would have access to a range of safety features and support, including GPS tracking for every journey, the ability to share trip details with trusted contacts, 24/7 in-app support and more.
