Undara festival ready to rock!
ORGANISERS are gearing up for the 20th anniversary of the Undara Rock and Blues Festival later this month.

The festival lineup features a strong mix of acclaimed and crowd-favourite performers including Ezra Lee, The Hussy Hicks, George and Noriko, Ben Ford Davies and Tim Griffin.
Locals are being encouraged to head west and support operators along the Savannah Way, with Cobbald Gorge expected to be opened this Wednesday.
Chief executive officer and founder of G’day Group and Discovery Resorts Grant Wilckens said the Undara festival, to be held on 24-26 April, had drawn hundreds of music lovers to the edge of Undara Volcanic National Park for two decades, cementing its place as one of outback Queensland’s most distinctive cultural events.
“Events like the festival not only showcase incredible Australian talent, they also play an important role in supporting regional communities by bringing visitors, creating local opportunities and celebrating the unique character of iconic destinations like Undara,” he said.
“At Discovery Resorts, we’re committed to creating destination-led experiences that give people a compelling reason to travel, stay longer and connect with regional Australia.”
Cobbold Gorge Business Development Manager Glenda Daly said the gorge would open on 1 April, with graded roads, plenty of fuel and stunning green scenery.
“We have an Easter program for the whole family and offer a Bali-style holiday in your own backyard with our infinity pool and swim-up bar,” she said.
Gulf Savannah Development chief executive officer Neil O’Brien said the Savannah Way region was open for business through to Etheridge and encouraged travellers to check local council websites for up-to-date information about road conditions.
“The roads to Undara and Cobbold Gorge are now open after parts of the Gulf Savannah region have been isolated since December,” he said.
“The country is green, the wildlife is plentiful and the locals will welcome you with their generous country hospitality.”
