Under the canine spotlight

WITH 141 dogs travelling with their humans from as far away as Ayr, there was plenty to howl about at this year’s Atherton Tableland Kennel Club Championship Dog Shows.

Organiser John Pucel said there was a great turnout at both events, which were held over the first two weekends in July, with a welcome crowd of onlookers keen to learn about and admire the various breeds on show.

This year’s winner of Best in Show for the first weekend event was local girl Mazarelli Misty Millstream (pictured), who was born and bred in Ravenshoe.

An English Springer Spaniel from Townsville won Best In Show at the second Saturday event and on Sunday the honour went to a Neapolitan Mastiff from Ayr.
