$30M in sports grants on offer
LOCAL sports clubs can now apply for a share in $30 million in funding through Round 2 of the state government’s Games On program.

The program is set to deliver two categories of funding – $20 million towards the Field of Play program, which is for smaller, community-level projects, and $10 million in the Partnership Fund for larger-scale developments.
The Games On program is strengthening grassroots sports and making it easier for young Queenslanders to get involved in their community, with 199 projects being supported in Round 1.
“Sport is intertwined with who we are as Queenslanders, and it plays a central role in making our communities more connected, inclusive and active,” Minister for Sport and Racing Tim Mander said.
“The Games On program is about supporting our clubs and communities to strengthen participation by improving the quality of their facilities now and for future generations.
“Volunteers are at the heart of local sport and deserve as much support as possible to continue their invaluable service to the community.
“By investing at the grassroots level right across the state, Games On ensures that every Queenslander, no matter where they live, their background or ability, has the opportunity to be active, get involved and share in the benefits of our vibrant sporting culture.
“I call on all eligible organisations to come forward with their shovel-ready projects now.”
