Vouchers reduce sporting costs

AS parents begin to prepare for another year of sports, applications for round two of the government’s Play On Sports Vouchers are set to open at the end of the month.

Every Queensland child aged five to 17 is eligible for a voucher each financial year. So, if a child received one in round one (August/September 2025), they will not be eligible for this round.

The Play On Sports Vouchers program is designed to help more young people get involved in organised physical activity.

By reducing the cost of participation, the vouchers make it easier for families to support their children in joining local clubs, trying new sports, and staying active in their communities.

Each voucher is valued at up to $200 and a dedicated allocation is available for children living in regional and remote Queensland. Applications for round two will open on 29 January.
