Water infrastructure upgrades pay off
WORKS to upgrade Mareeba’s water infrastructure appear to be paying off, with fewer water main breaks this year compared to the same time in 2021.

Mareeba Shire Council has been heavily investing in improving the water network and from the year-to-date figures, it is starting to have a positive effect.
There have been 68 water main breaks year to date, compared to 91 at the same time last year.
