The Under 14 Mareeba Bulls have been crowned “double champions” after securing both the minor premiership and Grand Final titles this season.

The young Bulls, comprised of both boys and girls, finished the regular season in style – topping the ladder by just a single point after a fiercely competitive campaign.

Over the course of the season and finals, the talented young squad netted an incredible 105 goals, showcasing their attacking flair and relentless determination.

The journey to glory wasn’t without its challenges, however, with a few hiccups mid-season testing the team’s resilience.

But true to the “Bulls way”, the side showed heart and determination, finishing the season strongly and carrying their momentum into finals football.

In the first semi-final, Mareeba dominated play but struggled to convert their chances, forcing them into a second semi-final clash.

This time, there was no holding back. The Bulls stormed to an emphatic 7–2 victory to book their spot in the Grand Final.

The big game itself was a showcase of grit and class. Mareeba started brightly, but the match was locked 1–1 at halftime.

After regrouping and making a few tactical adjustments, the Bulls roared back in the second half, powering to a 4–1 win.

Star striker Braidy Butler led the charge with a memorable hat-trick, while Rhys Malfitana added the fourth goal to seal the victory.

Coaches Ross Malfitana and Giulie Alderton “couldn’t be prouder” of their squad’s achievements.

“The boys and girls showed the Bulls way of determination and heart all year,” they said.

“To finish as both Premiers and Grand Final champions is a testament to their hard work, resilience, and team spirit.”

The U14 side are also celebrating another historic milestone, being the only Mareeba Bulls team this season to claim both the minor premiership and Grand Final titles.

With such a strong foundation and a championship-winning spirit, the future of the club looks bright with this young group of Bulls.
