Your voice needed on health matters
MAREEBA Shire residents are invited to take part in two important upcoming community consultations as part of the Mareeba and Communities Family Healthcare project.

This local initiative is exploring how primary healthcare services can better meet the needs of people living in the Mareeba township and the Shire.
“The project is focused on understanding community experiences of accessing primary healthcare, the quality of services available, and how services can be strengthened into the future,” co-ordinator Lea Stevenson said.
“Community members are encouraged to share their experiences, insights and ideas.
“Whether you are a young person, parent, carer, senior, business owner or health professional, your perspective is valuable.”
The project will help inform future service planning, including workforce sustainability and service models suited to rural communities in the Mareeba Shire.
Two public sessions will be held in Mareeba: on Thursday, 19 February at Queensland Country Women’s Association, Wilkes Street, from 5.30pm-7pm; and on Wednesday 25 February, at Mareeba Community Centre, 39b Byrnes Street, from 2pm-3pm.
