Youth encouraged to have their say in strategic plan

YOUNG people aged between 15-25 are being encouraged to complete an online survey to inform Tableland Regional Council’s Youth Advisory Committee as they conduct a midway review of its Youth Strategic Plan.

The survey seeks to find out how young people feel about living on the Tablelands, asking questions about whether they feel socially connected through events like theatre and music, whether they feel part of the community through activities like volunteering and whether they feel they have adequate opportunities to develop through training, higher education and work opportunities.

The survey also asks whether youth know where and how to access services for their health and wellbeing, whether they are able to access everything they need in the region, and what makes the Tablelands a great place for youth.

Participants also can tell the committee what they believe are the challenges for young people living in the region and what are the three things they think would make the Tablelands a better place for youth.

People who fill out the survey are in the running to win one of three $100 gift certificates.

The survey can be accessed by going to www.trc.qld.gov.au/project/youth-survey and must be completed by Friday 23 September to be in the running to win one of cards.
